Welcome!

Welcome to the home of Kemetic Orthodoxy!

Ancient Egyptian religion lives again within the Kemetic Orthodox Religion, a current-day practice of the traditional spirituality of Kemet (known today as Egypt). With Netjer's help and blessing, this most ancient tradition is honored anew by people all around the globe, returning the principles of Ma'at to a new world.

We have changed the process around maintaining our financial information. Starting with a summary of 2016, the financial statements are intended to be posted monthly. This will help us stay aware of how much it really costs to run the House of Netjer and why we need to move to sell Tawy as soon as possible. See the information here: http://www.kemet.org/finances. Thank you for your patience.

You may have noticed that both kemet.org and netjer.org have a little "donation tracker" widget on their home pages, and some other pages.

Each month, we need money to operate. Nothing that the House of Netjer does is free, with the exception of the time and effort donated by our priesthood and membership who help keep things running. This is also not "free": it's just unpaid volunteer work. It costs each one of those lovely people in time and effort, and sometimes money, to occur.

Our next beginners' class is scheduled to begin on or about February 15, 2017. This approximately 16-week course is conducted entirely online, using message forums, an email list, and IRC real-time chat rooms, to introduce people to the Kemetic Orthodox Religion and its practice. This is also the first step in joining the House of Netjer Kemetic Orthodox Temple if you are so interested.

Em hotep (in peace), everyone!

Our financial report for 2015 through the month of May is now available at http://www.kemet.org/finances. Financial transparency with our supporters is important to us and we hope to be able to provide more regular updates going forward. Please note that our current donation receipts and holdings do include retreat registration fees. These will be expended on our Retreat costs in August which totaled around $5,000 last year on top of our regular monthly expenses.

We are still working to raise an extra $5,000 to repay a loan that was taken last December for emergency repair work on the boiler at Tawy House. Additional information on this fundraising effort can be found at http://www.helpingtawy.com/.

Thank you all for your generous donations and support for the House of Netjer!
